“How Conversations Shape The World!”

“One good conversation can shift the direction of the change forever.” — Linda Lam

The world is louder now than ever before with massive amounts of information. Through the expansive reach of podcasts, social media, and cellphones. I reflect on what conversations used to be like before these channels of communication were just websites, brick and mortar radio stations and just cellphones. Considering that a podcast is a virtual radio station, the moment something is accessible to such speed of information nothing is hidden.

Social media has a rather interesting history that I remember vividly, like it was yesterday, twitter now “X” was and still is a place for unfiltered thoughts. You would hope no one finds your post if you’re a terrible person behind closed doors. The real facilitator that keeps everything connected at godspeed is cellphones.

You know the gadget that shines blue light, it’s really what’s keeping the lights on for social media with its smart advancements and you pay a convenience fee. It seems to have the internet following you, never missing a thing, and FOMO is no longer a MOFO! For instance no cellphones, no wifi, for an hour and the people who benefited would suffer and a disease would be created out of nowhere. I think that’s how some mental illnesses may occur.

Interestingly enough I am beginning to understand the importance of conversations virtually and physically. I’ve heard this old adage, “ The rich get richer while the poor get poorer…” It’s not  just money, not only is it lack of education that’s causing this, it’s the conversations.

The conversations you have with yourself shapes how you perceive the world and the conversations you have with others helps you gain many new perspectives. It’s really why you should find your tribe and work hard on yourself to be a part of and provide conversations that shape our world.

Conversations are the discussion of ideas and the purpose of discussions is to advance greater comprehension of these ideas. Also, it opens us up to learn something important about ourselves and other people’s cultures, social cues, and gestures.

This is a segue to my previous post “ Communication Makes The World…”  I truly am passionate about this belief because I had the mindset that money makes the world go round but that’s because I thought so little about the world at the time. I realized somebody communicated that that’s what made the world go round.

Remembering that Wu Tang Clan song, C.R.E.A.M, cash rules everything around me but it was an expression of an idea not necessarily a fixed truth. Music is a very powerful way of communicating. Nothing against the Wu Tang Clan’s song, I’m inspired to make it my own, C.R.I.A.M, conversations revolve ideas around me.

I was 18 believing that going to school was great for making money, it’s true but I found that it was far greater opportunities in the world of networking. After I took a course in college, intercultural communication, I learned that everything was far deeper than just communicating as a whole.

There were conversations shaping the world that we live in through communication channels but conversations gave intimacy, interest and impression of ideas. There are four types of conversations but the one that helps us learn information is through a healthy dialogue, if it’s negative “Turn The TV Off!”, the world is loud enough the last thing needed is ignorant convos.

Podcast Host and The Experts

After experiencing hosting my own podcast, I learned about myself and that I have a lot in common with experts that I was interviewing. We’re attracting ideas through conversation, the C.R.I.A.M, that’s the money, the social currency.

We attract it from the conversations we have, willing to create healthy dialogues, build connections that build trust and expand ideas. I have heard that enormous amounts of money is made from contracts and agreements, sharing ideas that become created assets from one’s mind and I have seen it happen on social media. One idea that goes viral and the creator of the idea is set for life.
